Joshua Russell has performed as a pianist, organist, and conductor throughout the United States, Europe, and Haiti.  Widely regarded as an expert on the piano music of Haiti, Dr. Russell recently performed an encore recital of Haitian piano music at the Haitian Embassy in Washington, D.C., after which Haitian Ambassador Raymond Joseph stated:

Russell to Give Second Performance of Long Lost Haitian Piano Concerto

***UPDATED TIME OF EVENT*** On January 22, 2012, at 6:00 p.m., Joshua Russell will present a performance of Justin Elie's Tropical Fantasy at United Presbyterian Church, in Peoria, IL.  It will be part of a program of Haitian music to raise money for the L'Ecole Sainte Trinite Summer Music Camp for Haitian Youth in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.  (To read more about the long lost Haitian piano concerto, click here) Russell reconstructed and edited the parts to the Tropical Fantasy, and gave the first performance of the work outside of Haiti in 80 years.
