Musical Instruments for Haiti Project/Concert

May 26th, 2010

Thank you very much to Ryan Schlader, host of “What’s Happening” on WMT 600 AM Radio, Cedar Rapids, IA for the 30 minute in-depth interview regarding our concert and efforts to help rebuild the music program at the Holy Trinity School in Port-au-Prince.

Violinist John Schultz and I will perform a concert at 7:00p.m. on Saturday, June 5, at the Preucil School of Music, 524 N. Johnson St., Iowa City, IA 52245.  The concert will feature Haitian music for violin and piano, Haitian piano music, and other short pieces for violin and piano.  This is a concert for everyone, from young music students to music connoisseurs.

Admission to the concert is free, but we will be accepting free-will donations of musical instruments, instrument accessories/supplies, and monetary donations to go toward the rebuilding of Haiti’s primary music teaching program at the Holy Trinity School.

If you are unable to attend the concert, but would like to donate an instrument or make a tax-deductible monetary contribution, please contact me through the “Contact” page of my website and I will return your message quickly.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions!
